Jailbreak in Firmware 3.1.3
The somewhat complicated Firmware 3.1.3 using Jailbreak. The flaw used by blackra1n was corrected so it does not work anymore, and now we have some slightly different methods also varies according to the model of your device. I list here possible models and methods which can be used:
iPod touch 1G: redsn0w 0.9.4 ( win / mac )
iPod touch 2G (model not MC): redsn0w 0.9.4 ( win / mac )
iPod touch 2G (MC model): [? / no]
iPod touch 3G: [? / no]
iPhone 2G redsn0w 0.9.4 ( win / mac ) or Sn0wbreeze ( win )
iPhone 3G: redsn0w 0.9.4 ( win / mac ) or Sn0wbreeze ( win )
iPhone 3G (iBoot old): Sn0wbreeze ( win )
iPhone 3G (iBoot recent): [? / no]
Help me if I'm wrong, I'm not sure about the new 2G and 3G.
When you leave a more unified I do a video tutorial. That way all messed up is not worth it.
Hugs!
* To find out if your iPod touch or MC is not, go to Settings -> General -> About and see if it begins with Model MC.
** If you have an iPhone 3G or 3G unlocked unofficially do not update at all because you will lose irreversibly the release.
*** If you are running 3.1.2 everything right on your device, or warm upgrade to 3.1.3. This version came with a few fixes that make no difference to 99% of us. The real purpose of the firmware is disrupt the lives of those using Jailbreak.

If you are having a problem with redsn0w "Unable to Recognize specified IPSW", use the 3.1.2 firmware on it. That is, take time to browse in, choose the 3.1.2.
